June Brilliant Bundle

Kick off your writing summer with a brilliant bundle of classes

Listen, we get it. Launching out into a goal, a dream, a serious endeavor like writing a novel is, well, daunting. You have the fire, the idea, the characters, but how do you bring them to life on the page?

With the summer right around the corner, our June Brilliant Bundle offers great classes to help with completing that summer novel. With these lessons, you will learn how to recognize a viable idea spark and how to ignite it a story, brainstorm your novel by asking your characters 1 (yes, that's right!) simple question to unlock the core of their motivations, and how to develop those emotional layers to create a story that will keep your reader turning the pages.

So let's start with From Spark to Story: How to nurture a spark into a viable story. With so many story ideas floating in our heads, how do we know which ones are viable sparks and which ones are doomed to fizzle? This lesson will help you to ignite an idea into a sellable novel.

Then, we'll continue with Dark Moment Plotting and Characterization. Have you heard an editor or agent say, "Your Hero or Heroine Lacks Depth?" Maybe you've stared at the page and have not known where to take your hero. Or even felt like you didn't truly understand him? Creating a character doesn't have to be overwhelming when you start with ONE basic question. During this two-part lesson, I'll tell you what that question is and how to apply it to create a multi-dimensional character. Then, we'll go deeper with how to create a compelling backstory that will help you to craft your plot.

And now that you've figured out your character, let's talk The Layer of Emotions. In this two-part lesson, I'll share the four four emotional layers and when to use them. We’ll then dive deep into the final layer, and show how to develop this layer using 3 powerful techniques. After all, a great book goes deeper and explores the shades of emotions.

Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. - Goethe

You can write a brilliant story. Let's make it happen.

XO!

Susan May Warren
Hi. I'm Susan May Warren. I started writing while I lived in Siberia (yes, you heard that right--cold, snowy, Siberia). Alone. No one to help me, overwhelmed and not a little discouraged. Fifteen years later, I've published over 65 books in five different genres, have landed on numerous bestseller lists (including USA Today), won the RITA, CHRISTY and CAROL awards (and others) and started a school for novelists.

I've learned a few things along the way (beyond techniques on how to stay warm in the tundra!) Most importantly I learned that if I wanted to be published, I had to figure out how to write a book, how to edit it, how to step back from my stories, look at them with a critical eye, figure out what a good manuscript looks like, and then use my unique voice to make that happen.

I'd like to teach you how to write a good book. Edit it...and then, we'll talk about selling it. Let's NaNoWriMo!
