Writing resources for Novel Academy members

We understand it takes a lot to get a book out into the world…and into your readers’ hands.

And we want to equip you in every way possible!

In today’s world, writers have become more than purveyors of words. In addition to creating the stories, depending on the publishing direction we decide to go, we need to ensure those stories have been strengthened by editors’ pens. If you’re planning to publish with a traditional publishing house, then you don’t really need to hire a freelance editor.

However, if you’re planning to walk the indie road, then you’ll want to ensure your writing is as strong as possible before publishing your novels. Consider checking out our MBT Editor Directory to find an editor who may be the right fit for your story.

We are offering a My Book Therapy resource for our Novel Academy members and our non-members who are a part of our extended My Book Therapy community.

Novel Academy members, who are editors, have the option to list their business information in our MBT Editor Directory.

Non-Novel Academy members will have the same option. However, you will need to pay a small fee to list your business information. (If you want to become a Novel Academy member to have full access to our archived school of over 200 classes on every aspect of story craft plus building a brilliant writing career, we can make that happen for you.)

If you're an editor and would like to include your information in our directory, click here: MBT Editor Directory. Then click on the appropriate button below to choose your pricing option. Once your information has been added, we will provide you with a link to share to advertise with potential clients.

Susan May Warren
Susan May Warren
Hi. I'm Susan May Warren. I started writing while I lived in Siberia (yes, you heard that right--cold, snowy, Siberia). Alone. No one to help me, overwhelmed and not a little discouraged. Eighteen years later, I've published over 80 books in five different genres, have landed on numerous bestseller lists (including USA Today), won the RITA, CHRISTY and CAROL awards (and others) and started a school for novelists.

I've learned a few things along the way (beyond techniques on how to stay warm in the tundra!) Most importantly I learned that if I wanted to be published, I had to figure out how to write a book, how to edit it, how to step back from my stories, look at them with a critical eye, figure out what a good manuscript looks like, and then use my unique voice to make that happen.

I'd like to teach you how to write a good book. Edit it...and then, we'll talk about selling it.
